Product Description

Ferrees Flute and Piccolo Head Swedging Dies were designed to shrink the tenons that have been over expanded. These dies can also be used to remove ridges and dents from tenons that have been previously improperly repaired. The proper sized die should be firmly held by a vise. Use cork grease or Z6 Synthetic Lubricant laced petroleum jelly as lube on the tenon. Tighten the adjusting screw so the die barely closes on the tenon. Work the tenon. Then move it back and forth in the die with a semi-rotating motion. Test fit, often.
FLUTE HEAD SWEDGING DIES
N77A Has a .790 (20mm) Bore and is 1" (25.4mm) long. It fits most standard flutes.
N77B Has a .790 (20mm) Bore and is 2" (50.8mm) long. Designed for repair technician who needs to cover a large area.
N77C Has a .774 (19.7mm) Bore and is 1" (25.4mm) long. It fits Armstrong model 80 and some imported flutes.
N77D Has a .975 (24.76mm) Bore and is 1 1/2" (38.1mm) long for the Armstrong alto flute.
N77E Has a 1.030 (26.16mm) Bore and is 1 1/2" (38.1mm) long for Gemeinhardt alto flute.

Any return must have an RMA #.  Please contact the office to receive this number.

  • We appreciate your business and want you to be 100% satisfied.  If for any reason you need to return our products you must do so within 30 days in order to get a full refund.  Any return after 30 days is subject to a restocking fee determined by the amount of the order, condition of the item and age of the item being returned.
  • Returns are not accepted for any item after 180 days from the invoice date.
  • Returns are not accepted for any item that was manufactured per your instructions and are not our standard tools.
  • Any standard tool manufactured at Ferree’s is warranted to be free from defect for a period of 1 year.  We will at our discretion repair or replace your tool.  You must return the tool to Ferree’s for this warranty to be valid.
  • We will refund shipping cost to return the item if it is within the 30 day timeframe.  If it is beyond the 30 days the customer pays return shipping.  If the item is damaged during return shipping we will charge you for the repair of the damage.  Shop rate is 90.00/hr.

  • Phone orders are taken Monday through Friday 8:30am – 3:00pm Eastern Standard Time
  • Fax and email orders can be sent anytime and will be processed on the next business day.

  • There is a $25.00 minimum for all orders.
  • Changes to orders after they are placed will be subject to a 15.00 handling fee.
